Dun dun dun... it's the zoo! And hanging above the entrance to the zoo is a rather large banner advertising a special reptile exhibit that just started today. If having it literally in writing doesn't make Inigo's reason for taking him here completely obvious, well. ] I heard they've got some Komodo dragons right now.
[ Yes, he's taking his hopefully-soon-to-be-fiance to the zoo so he can be a nerd about reptiles. He loves him so much. ]
He was well aware that the exhibit was happening, but he'd been waffling about going due to being busy and all that. Responsibilities.. planning a proposal... y'know. So this is a very very more than welcome surprise. Gerome can't help the smile that pulls across his face.] What are we waiting for then?
[And he's pulling Inigo into the zoo.
Of course they're going to see all the other animals too since they paid for it, but there's no hiding the eagerness in Gerome's step. He wants to get to the reptile exhibit asap. When they finally do, it's clear how enamored he is with all of them. He stops to appreciate each one fully and has plenty of random facts he's learned over the years to tell Inigo if he'll listen. Even if he's not listening (Gerome knows he is) he'd still say them.
He's especially awed by the Komodo Dragons. He squeezes Inigo's hands tight when they reach them. They're large and beautiful, standing majestically with their heads peaked and tongues flicking to taste the air.] I can't believe we're lucky enough to see them in this day and age. They're practically dinosaurs, Inigo.
[ It doesn't matter how many times he's heard the facts - Inigo would listen to him for hours if only to hear how his smile creeps into his voice. He's just... lovely. And Inigo absolutely adores whenever Gerome gets animated and passionate about something.
He squeezes Gerome's hands in return and takes a moment to admire the dragons (they're... cute?) before bumping his shoulder against his. ] Oh? What can you tell me about them?
[ Inigo will listen patiently, occasionally giving his hands more gentle squeezes and humming along with his words.
Eventually, though, he interrupts Gerome with a very fond kiss on the corner of his lips. PDA alert, PDA alert!! ] Sorry, I couldn't help myself - you're just so cute.
[ And he loves him!!! So!!! Much!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ] Continue where you left off?
Nonsense - you're talking just the right amount. [ He gives him another kiss in the same spot, simply because he can. ] I love hearing you be so passionate. Though it makes it hard for me to not fall for you even more.
[Just as Gerome's about to retort (inigo's far too embarrassing for him to handle. and, uh, he's the one who's supposed to be proposing so why is inigo indulging him so much, this isn't fair) the pa system blares and there's an announcement that the zoo's "close encounter" where patrons can hold one of the reptiles and have a photo op will be happening soon in the auditorium.
This... this is too much. This is a direct attack on Gerome.
[ Inigo's indulging him just the right amount because this is all part of his elaborate plan to propose to him, duh.
But the announcement cuts their conversation short, and Inigo returns that weak look with a fond smile as he begins to pull Gerome in the direction of the auditorium. ] Come on, now - we'll want to get there before the lines get too long.
[ That is to say, yes, Gerome, you can hold as many reptiles as your big gay arms can hold. And Inigo will join in, too! ... He just won't touch any snakes. ]
