It makes moments like this - with Tsumugi looking like that - a little difficult.

He has to get so close to Tsumugi's face for this, it's agonizing. And, it's extra agonizing when he has to tilt his chin between his fingers so he can angle and make his wings as sharp as he promised.
But oh, oh, if Kazunari thought applying the eyeliner was the most agonizing step, he is about to be sorely mistaken. Applying Tsumugi's lipstick is going to be so, so much worse for his poor gay heart.] Um, can you part your lips a bit? Like you're goin' in for a smooch.
[Having a manticore cub as a familiar is... interesting. It's as playful as a kitten or puppy which is cute, but its play fighting can get dangerous quickly. It so far hasn't tried to swipe with its tail but even just a wrong move with those big paws of it can do a lot of damage.
So Ichiro is always keeping a close eye on it when its around. He has to make sure he doesn't get hurt and that the cub doesn't heckle any other residents...

[In what is a true display of majesty and grace, Ichiro runs after his familiar, slouching to scoop it up in his arms, and promptly skids and eats shit. But he seems okay aside from some scrapes, and Go squirms to get out of Ichiro's hold but then settles on chewing on his jacket.]
[ Multiple things happen in succession. First, he notices Fuyu tense by his side, a rare display of aggression as he feels his charge may be in danger. Then there's the creature, unlike anything he's encountered before, heading right in his direction.
And finally, there's Ichiro eating shit. Tsumugi winces as he hits the ground, and though he seems okay, he wastes no time going over to check on him anyway. ]
Excuse me... are you alright? [ He offers a hand to the stranger. (fuyu, meanwhile, is not breaking eye contact with go. Protecc.) ]
[Go isn't the easiest to hold onto what with its little baby wings, tail and just the sheer strength of it. So Ichiro is relieved that the thing stills for its staring match with Fuyu (though his jacket is still in its mouth. sigh). It makes righting himself and accepting the stranger's hand much easier.]
I'm fine - sorry about that. [And alright fine, if Go isn't going to let go of his jacket then Ichiro's going to take advantage of that. He maneuvers his jacket off and wraps his little monster into a burrito.] I saw it going right for you and - well, I guess that doesn't really matter. Again, sorry for the trouble.
[ Tsumugi is quick to shake his head and offer reassurances. ] Oh, no, it was no trouble! I'm just glad you're not hurt.
[ Though, now that he's looking closer... before he can think to stop himself, he reaches up to touch Ichiro's cheek - or, specifically, to brush some dirt off it. ] But are you sure you're okay?
[ All things considered, it's a fairly ordinary night. Kazunari's off at work, which means Tsumugi has their place to himself - and, in turn, means he can have his new boyfriend over without feeling guilty or self-conscious. (it's more self-conscious than guilt, honestly. he appreciates kazunari's "hype", truly, but he's a bit too enthusiastic.)
Ichiro isn't his first partner, but he's his first in a couple of years. Tsumugi finds himself keenly aware of him occupying the space beside him, drying the dishes from their home-cooked dinner.
Which means that in no time at all, he notices when Ichiro's attention begins to wavee. Is it his imagination, or is he staring at him?
Either way, he asks ] Ichiro-kun? Is something on your mind?
[Unfortunately for everyone involved, once Tsumugi and Ichiro are further along in their relationship Kazunari will "subtly" leave some condoms out in the bathroom for him. But like, totally just by chance piko! Nothing hype to see here!
In the now, however, their relationship is very fresh. Very new. Especially for Ichiro who has never had the time nor the interest in having a relationship up until now. This is his first relationship and that is a fact that had not bothered him until just recently. Up until he was talking with Minako and somehow the topic of cute guys and experience came up.
And then Ichiro thought about it, and then he couldn't stop thinking about it to the point where even Tsumugi could tell, apparently. Ichiro startles out of his daydreaming.] Eh - what? Was I making a weird face?
It's nothing that serious. [Oop. That sentence leaves his mouth and he winces immediately. That's only direct confirmation that there is something on his mind.
Ichiro scratches the back of his neck.] It's actually kind of stupid. [Okay, he takes a deep breath and he puts down whatever dishes he was holding while helping Tsumugi dry.] I got all up in my head thinking about how you're my first boyfriend...
[Which only scratches the surface of his overthinking. He might as well be out with the rest of it.] So I don't have any experience and I can be pretty dense about these sorta things. I feel kinda at a disadvantage but more than that, I don't wanna be a crummy boyfriend.
[Ack. He said it. Ichiro's been looking down at his hands while speaking, but he finally looks up to meet Tsumugi's eyes when he's done.]

For weeks he'd been wracking his brain, trying to think of the perfect way to ask out Jiro's after school tutor Tsumugi Tsukioka. If he was going to ask him out, he wanted to be prepared and have a date in mind but he'd been struggling to find a balance between something that Tsumugi and himself would enjoy together. Going out for coffee or something just didn't seem like enough when they'd already been doing that almost weekly after Jiro's tutoring sessions - it's what they were doing just now!
But the stars had aligned. The 20th anniversary of W Juliet, a classic shoujo manga, was coming up and in celebration there was a limited run of a stage play adaptation in the works. Ichiro remembered enjoying the manga when he'd read it: it was touching and he admired the main character's conviction and passion for acting. And that was it! It was a stage play based on a series about acting! Ichiro couldn't have asked for a better date activity!
The tickets are burning in his pocket, he just needs! To! Actually... ask Tsumugi. Out. Guh.
Ichiro's not shy. He can be a little awkward and he doesn't have any experience dating but that's not why he's hesitating. He's hesitating because he doesn't want to make things weird for Jiro or lose the friendship he's made with Tsumugi.
Tsumugi's an amazing tutor: he's helped Jiro so much and even taught Ichiro some things he'd missed during his high school experience. He's an amazing friend, too. Incredibly considerate and sweet. Passionate. Always encouraging and inquiring about the brothers' other interests. Down to earth but with that little bit of a silly side that's brilliant when it comes through. Ichiro's so in love with him.
But...
Ichiro looks up from the mugs he's rinsing to the kitchen clock.]
Shoot. I didn't realize we'd been talking that long - do you still have time to catch the train, Tsumugi-san?
[ Tsumugi would've never found out about Red Hibiscus on his own. But he'd been talking with Taichi recently, and one thing led to another (as it usually does with taichi) and next thing he knew he had the blog bookmarked on his phone.
He'd say that he's usually better with his feelings than this but really, he doesn't have a lot of relationship experience. There's so much to consider with these growing feelings of his, too... their friendship is perfect as is, so why change things up with a confession? Would things become weird if they started dating? And, perhaps most importantly, how much of his current affection is platonic? Is any of it more?
Could Kazunari even like him in that way?
Tsumugi frowns, and begins typing. ] Hello, miss.fortune. I was wondering if I could get your advice on something.
I'm beginning to realize that I have feelings for someone. They're incredibly dear to me... but I can't help but think that maybe I shouldn't say anything. I know they care for me, too, so I'm not worried about complete rejection necessarily, but even confessing to them would drastically change our relationship... and I don't know if I would make them uncomfortable.
In this sort of situation, what would you do?

[It's happened again. Watching a performance has gotten him all hot and bothered.
This had happened a couple times back in Mankai, and it was a miracle only Misumi had managed to figure him out, but it was much less frequent. Now though, now that he's dating Tsumugi and paying more attention to him especially on stage, it's happening so much more often.
He's always loved and admired Tsumugi's passion for theater. It was inspiring and maybe even a little scary at times. To love something that much? It's insane. So this isn't even the first time Kazunari has had to sneak out of the theater after watching Tsumugi perform. But again, now it's so much more different.
That's his boyfriend up on stage. That's his boyfriend absolutely killing it and pouring his heart, his everything, into his performance. He can't help how he swells with both pride and arousal.
But really, hanging around with a boner for just anyone to see isn't a great idea. So off he goes to the nearest secluded space so he can press his back to the wall and calm down. He is willing his boner to pleeeease chill out.]
[ When Tsumugi steps off the stage, he expects to be enveloped in the warm, loving embrace of his boyfriend. Which is why, at the first available opportunity, he goes looking for him. Still clad in his costume, and with numerous apologies and "thank you for coming, I'll be back in a moment"s, he breaks away from the rest of the cast and their supporters.
The theater is quite large, though. He's not even sure where to start. So he wanders a bit aimlessly, calling out every so often: ] Kazu-kun?
Eh? [Kazunari hears the call for him as soon as Tsumugi is close enough. It's not that he hadn't expected Tsumugi to go looking for him, but he thought he'd be caught up with the audience a bit more first.
Regardless, he pokes his head out from where he's hiding (which happens to be a prop and storage room) and whispers loud enough for Tsumugi to hear.] Tsumutsumu. Over here!
[He keeps his body hidden behind the door when Tsumugi approaches.] Didja need me for something?
Oh, there you are! [ Tsumugi's quick to make his way over to his boyfriend, curiosity and concern only growing by the moment.
He shakes his head, quick to jump to reassurances. ] I was just wondering where you went. I didn't see you when I got off stage... [ For him to be here, hiding away in a (metaphorical) corner by himself... It doesn't make sense. Why hasn't he knocked him off his feet yet, or smothered him with kisses? What's with the secrecy? ]
[ ... Well! That was an interesting experience, to say the least. Not bad, necessarily, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't looking forward to some normalcy back home with Kazunari.
Or, well, as normal as things get when your body's been magically changed by a sea horse. But it's fine! ... probably! It's better than being blind, at least? And if it doesn't wear off after a few more days, then they can start worrying.
So, after several days of being away - which he, for the record, felt every minute of, especially at night when he slept alone - he strolls in the front door of their shared home like nothing's different. ] I'm home. [ In reality, his voice is just different enough to be curious. But Fuyu's here, rushing ahead to find Kazunari wherever he's at - so that has to be Tsumugi. ... right? ]
[It feels like a lot happened in those few days that Tsumugi's been gone, when in reality that's not the case. It's just that the sole event of getting chased by criminals with Rosa tuckered Kazunari out and he, too, felt every minute of Tsumugi being gone. It's hard to imagine how he used to do this: to be able to go on with his days when Winter Troupe was out doing their shows and not feel that ache as if a part of him had gone missing.
Kazunari's been spending a lot of time in his room (or rather, what was previously his room before he migrated to tsumugi's, and it became more of a studio) painting, drawing - just making anything because he knows how hyper focused he gets and how that'll drown out the silence of their shared home.
God, Tsumugi hasn't even been gone for that long. This is ridiculous.
Regardless, due to his focus, it is indeed Fuyu that alerts him to Tsumugi's return first. His voice goes unnoticed. But then Kazunari zips out of his room, faster than he's ever moved before, surely.]

Could Kazunari even like him in that way?
Tsumugi frowns, and begins typing. ] Hello, miss.fortune. I was wondering if I could get your advice on something.
I'm beginning to realize that I have feelings for someone. They're incredibly dear to me... but I can't help but think that maybe I shouldn't say anything. I know they care for me, too, so I'm not worried about complete rejection necessarily, but even confessing to them would drastically change our relationship... and I don't know if I would make them uncomfortable.
In this sort of situation, what would you do?

This had happened a couple times back in Mankai, and it was a miracle only Misumi had managed to figure him out, but it was much less frequent. Even when he'd first arrived in Avalon, it happened here and there after a particularly intense rehearsal. Now though, now that he's dating Tsumugi and paying more attention to him especially on stage, it's happening so much more often.
He's always loved and admired Tsumugi's passion for theater. It was inspiring and maybe even a little scary at times. To love something that much? It's insane. So this isn't even the first time Kazunari has had to sneak out of the theater after watching Tsumugi perform. But again, now it's so much more different.
That's his boyfriend up on stage. That's his boyfriend absolutely killing it and pouring his heart, his everything, into his performance. He can't help how he swells with both pride and arousal.
But really, hanging around with a boner for just anyone to see isn't a great idea. So off he goes to the nearest secluded space so he can press his back to the wall and calm down. He is willing his boner to pleeeease chill out.]

Which is why, at the first available opportunity, he goes looking for him. Still clad in his costume, and with numerous apologies and "thank you for coming, I'll be back in a moment"s, he breaks away from the rest of the cast and their supporters.
The theater is quite large, though. He's not even sure where to start. So he wanders a bit aimlessly, calling out every so often: ] Kazu-kun?

Regardless, he pokes his head out from where he's hiding (which happens to be a prop and storage room) and whispers loud enough for Tsumugi to hear.] Tsumutsumu. Over here!
[He keeps his body hidden behind the door when Tsumugi approaches.] Didja need me for something?

He shakes his head, quick to jump to reassurances. ] I was just wondering where you went. I didn't see you when I got off stage... [ For him to be here, hiding away in a (metaphorical) corner by himself... It doesn't make sense. Why hasn't he knocked him off his feet yet, or smothered him with kisses? What's with the secrecy? ]

Or, well, as normal as things get when your body's been magically changed by a sea horse. But it's fine! ... probably! It's better than being blind, at least? And if it doesn't wear off after a few more days, then they can start worrying.
So, after several days of being away - which he, for the record, felt every minute of, especially at night when he slept alone - he strolls in the front door of their shared home like nothing's different. ] I'm home. [ In reality, his voice is just different enough to be curious. But Fuyu's here, rushing ahead to find Kazunari wherever he's at - so that has to be Tsumugi. ... right? ]

Kazunari's been spending a lot of time in his room (or rather, what was previously his room before he migrated to tsumugi's, and it became more of a studio) painting, drawing - just making anything because he knows how hyper focused he gets and how that'll drown out the silence of their shared home.
God, Tsumugi hasn't even been gone for that long. This is ridiculous.
Regardless, due to his focus, it is indeed Fuyu that alerts him to Tsumugi's return first. His voice goes unnoticed. But then Kazunari zips out of his room, faster than he's ever moved before, surely.]
Tsumutsumu!! Welcome home, piko~ I missed yoooou - [Kazunari notices immediately: it's very subtle but something is different. Something in Tsumugi's face. It's not enough to stop him from hugging Tsumugi close, though, and that's when it really hits him.
Tsumugi's always had a soft face and a smaller body (a twink body type with jock-esque personality for theater if you asked kazunari to describe him) but not like this.
He's not going to pull back, but he pats his hands flat all over Tsumugi's back while trying to place what is different.] Uhhh, hmmm???

[ YOU THINK????? Though his nonchalance about the whole affair might be a good thing? It certainly means he's not in any sort of danger or distress. Just some new bits to deal with.
